On 25 and 26 March 2026, the RESPECT consortium partners gathered in Grimstad, Norway, for the 8th General Assembly, hosted by two of the project's key partners: Vianode and Morrow Batteries.

As the project moves into its final stretch ahead of completion in July 2026, the meeting provided a timely opportunity to take stock of the work accomplished and align on the remaining tasks. The agenda included in-depth presentations of the work carried out over the last six months across the different work packages, as well as a review of the latest project developments and upcoming milestones — including the joint final event with FREE4LIB on 2 June 2026 in Brussels.

Site visit — Morrow Batteries Cell Factory & University of Agder

A highlight of the assembly was a visit to the Morrow Batteries Cell Factory, where partners had the opportunity to learn more about Morrow's approach to sustainable battery manufacturing and recycling. The group also visited the Morrow Research Centre at the University of Agder (UiA), offering a closer look at the academic research underpinning battery innovation in Norway.

Site visit — Vianode Technology Centre

Partners then visited the Vianode Technology Centre in Kristiansand, where they discovered how Vianode tests the performance of their anode graphite in cells, and explored their first commercial-scale pilot — a tangible demonstration of the steps being taken towards scaling up sustainable battery material production in Europe.

A warm thank you to Vianode and Morrow Batteries for hosting the consortium partners and for making this assembly an inspiring and productive experience for the whole consortium.
