As part of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025, the RESPECT project was featured at the EUSEW Energy Fair, held from 10 to 12 June 2025 at the Charlemagne Building of the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.

The RESPECT project was represented by Elizaveta Kuzmina (CLERENS), a project partner, who presented and promoted the project throughout the three-day event. Elizaveta actively engaged into discussions on sustainability, the competitiveness of the green technologies and decarbonisation, explaining RESPECT’s vital role in driving innovation within Europe’s battery supply chain.
Several materials were showcased :
Li-ion Battery (LiB) cells;
Battery waste black mass;
Nickel and lithium salts;
Solvent extraction processes of the critical raw materials: manganese, cobalt, nickel, and lithium.
Visitors expressed strong interest in the project’s goals, methodologies, and results. Public and scientific deliverables were made easily accessible via QR codes, enabling attendees to explore the research findings and publications in detail.

On the final day of EUSEW 2025, a spotlight session organised by Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) and RECHARGE - European Association of the Advanced Rechargeable & Lithium Batteries Value Chain highlighted the contribution of Horizon Europe R&I projects, including RESPECT, to the growth of the European battery ecosystem. The session explored the strategic importance of battery recycling, the sector’s challenges, and the future path toward circular, competitive solutions that support Europe's strategic autonomy.
The RESPECT booth was part of a shared exhibition area with other EU-funded initiatives, collectively demonstrating how EU research and innovation are shaping a sustainable energy future and making a tangible impact across Europe.
