On 25 June 2026, the RESPECT consortium partners convened in Embrach, Switzerland, for the 9th and final General Assembly, hosted by KYBURZ.
As the project reaches its conclusion in July 2026, this last assembly marked a milestone moment for the consortium — an opportunity to celebrate the work achieved, consolidate key learnings across all work packages, and look ahead to future research directions and collaboration opportunities. The agenda featured final technical presentations from each work package, covering battery supply and deactivation, pre-treatment, hydrometallurgy, direct recycling, and environmental and health impacts, as well as an update on dissemination achievements and funding opportunities for future initiatives.
A dedicated session brought all partners together to share their R&D priorities and explore potential future consortia, reflecting the strong collaborative spirit that has characterised RESPECT throughout its lifetime.
A highlight of the day was a guided tour of the KYBURZ facility, giving partners an inside look at the company's innovative approach to sustainable electric vehicle manufacturing. The visit concluded with a test drive of some of their in-house vehicles, a fitting way to close the project's final assembly.
Thank you to Kyburz for hosting this last General Assembly and to all the partners for contributing making this final meeting a success!
