In June, RESPECT project partners from LOMARTOV joined the TranSensus LCA – Final Event in Brussels, where over 60 industry, research, and policy stakeholders came together to discuss the future direction of life cycle assessment (LCA) in Europe.
Enrique Moliner was invited by TranSensus LCA project coordinator, to contribute to discussions on advancing methodologies and strengthening standardisation for more accurate environmental assessments.

Over two days, participants reviewed the final TranSensus LCA approach — a harmonised European methodology for assessing zero-emission road transport systems, recognised as a vital tool for achieving the EU Green Deal targets. The programme also featured a joint workshop with six EU-funded initiatives (ESCALATE, RESPECT, ZEvRA, CLEVER, HiQ LCA, and RELIEF) to address LCA challenges, industry implementation barriers, and its role in the circular economy.

Enrique Moliner presented the RESPECT project, showcasing work on life cycle sustainability assessment (LCSA) of baseline scenarios for LIB recycling, and joined a roundtable discussion on lessons learned from applying LCA in research projects, challenges for industry adoption, research gaps, and the role of LCA in product development and the circular economy and joined a roundtable on lessons learned from applying LCA in research, industry uptake, and research needs.
LOMARTOV will now look to apply the newly released TranSensus LCA guidelines to its ongoing RESPECT studies, aligning with the latest European best practices.
